land art workshops
Nature is home to wonderful shapes and colours, which we explore in a workshop using all our different senses. We collect natural elements found lying on the ground and which suit our specific topic. We pick up leaves, sticks, stones, flowers and much more and bring these into a new creative context. The artworks remain in the natural setting and symbolise the natural beauty of the creation process and the beauty of natural decay. In this project, the children are encouraged to create individually as well as in a group. The children can then build on the experiences when back in the classroom by drawing or painting the seeds, flowers and fruits which they have collected. The children are invited to return to visit their artworks in the midst of nature to see how it changes over time and reconnects with nature. This offers a great opportunity to refresh the topic and for groupwork outside the classroom.
